EATING ADVENTURES

Please ensure you have fully read and understand the terms and conditions below prior to booking any Eating Adventures tour.  All Terms and Conditions, Disclaimers and Waiver and Release of Liability included on this page apply to each participant once the trip reservation has been made.  By making a reservation and/or participating in our tours, you understand, accept and agree to the Terms and Conditions, Disclaimers and Waiver and Release of Liability for all tickets reserved. 

1. Food allergies or dietary needs and restrictions

Eating Adventures accepts no responsibility for any allergies and/or dietary needs of the participants.  If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know at the time of booking and we will try our best to accommodate you. 

2.Minimum number of participants

There is a minimum of 2 people for our tours.  If you are a solo traveller, you are welcome to book a tour.  We will try our best to combine you with other participants.  However, if this is not possible, we will contact you in advance to arrange alternate dates, options or refund. 

3. Payment

For tours in Hong Kong, full pre-payment via our secure online booking system is required.

For tours in mainland China, a deposit is payable by credit card to confirm your booking.  The balance is due in cash on the day of the tour. The deposit for tours in mainland China is charged in HKD due to third party payment processing limitations. 

4. Cancellation policy

No refunds for cancellations within 72 hours prior to the booked tour start time. 

For cancellations more than 72 hours prior to the booked tour start time, the cancellation charge is 25% of ticket price. 

5. Date changes

You may request a change in date or time up to 72 hours prior to the booked tour start time.  We will try our best to accommodate your request.  However, if the new date and/or time is not feasible, your tour will be run at the original confirmed date and time and any deposit paid is not refundable. 

6. Tour start time

As far as possible we aim to commence our tours on time.  If you are more than 10 minutes late we will commence the tour without you and you will be considered as a no-show. Please note that this is up to the discretion of the tour guide on the day.

7. Weather

Tour takes place as scheduled except under Red/Black storm warning or typhoon signal 8 or above.  Hong Kong and China can get quite hot during summer months.  Please ensure you wear appropriate clothing and footwear and bring an umbrella, hat and/or sunscreen if necessary.  We will do our best to contact you in the unlikely event that the tour is cancelled due to bad weather. The decision to cancel a tour due to bad weather will be made at 11am on the day of the tour.

8. We reserve the right to make changes

Eating Adventures reserves the right to make changes to the tour dates, times, prices and itinerary of our tours. 

Eating Adventures also reserves the right to change, cancel or substitute any of the tours you have booked under unforeseen circumstances.  In such cases, we will try our best to contact you in advance to alter or re-book your tours whenever possible.  Otherwise, you are entitled to a full refund. 

9. Changes to tasting stops in the stated itinerary

Eating Adventures reserves the right to change some of the tasting stops in the stated itinerary.  Some tastings are seasonal and some operators may be closed for Chinese holidays or public holidays.    

10. Participation in the tours at your own risk

All participants on food tours participate at their own risk.  It is your responsibility to assess your own level of health and fitness prior to booking our tours.  You should make sure you are in good health and suffer from no minor or serious physical or mental injury, illness or disability that would make you especially susceptible to injury or disability while participating in our tours.  You fully comprehend and accept all of the risks associated with your participation in our tours including, without limitation, exposure to unfavourable weather conditions, food sickness, injuries (e.g. without limitation, those arising out of self-inflicted accidents or mishaps, other participants, automobiles, pedestrians and the like) and death.

Participants in Guangzhou bicycle food tours ride at their own risk. Participants understand and accept that no helmets are provided. Eating Adventures is not liable for any injuries caused from riding bicycles during the tour. 

Eating Adventures accepts no liability for any sickness, injuries or death occurs while on tour.

11. Participant Waiver and Release of Liability

By booking with Eating Adventures, you release Eating Adventures and its officers, employees, agents, licensees, and other representatives from all cost, liability, loss or damage incurred or suffered by you directly or indirectly during the course of the tour and resulting from your personal injury, illness, death or damage to or loss of your property.  You give up any claims against Eating Adventures and its employees and you agree not to make any claim against or seek compensation from Eating Adventures and its employees in respect to any personal injury, illness, death suffered by you or damage to or loss of property incurred by you as a consequence of your participation in our tours. 

You understand and agree that Eating Adventures does not own or operate any of the facilities or suppliers of services for your tour.  You agree that Eating Adventures and its representatives shall not be liable for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity, liability or expense to person or property due to any act of default of restaurant and/or food supplier, transportation carrier or other contractor providing services to Eating Adventures or its participants. 

Eating Adventures and its representatives shall not be responsible for any expense or liability due to civil unrest, labour disputes, war or threat of war, acts of terrorism, government restrictions, weather, theft, fire or illness, or any other cause beyond our control.

Eating Adventures and its representatives reserve the right to accept or refuse any person as a participant of an Eating Adventures experience. 

12. Transactions and e-commerce on our website

Any online payments including credit card transactions are handled by a third party processing agent under a secure environment.  Eating Adventures cannot take responsibility for the success or security of transactions undertaken or processed by third parties. 

13. Use of tours for commercial gain.

By purchasing tickets you agree that you and any third party will not use information gained on this tour that is not of a general nature for financial gain. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Operating similar food tours in Hong Kong, Shanghai or Guangzhou
  • Publishing information in Newspapers, blogs or reviews (written, video or photographic)  without prior explicit consent from Eating Adventures PTY LTD.

Publishing our tour routes online, whether in written or photographic form is strictly forbidden regardless if there is any financial gain, unless explicitly waived by Eating Adventures PTY LTD.

14. Privacy

Eating Adventures will not sell or exchange any of the personal information you provided to us. 

By participating in any of our tours, you agree to grant Eating Adventures a worldwide, royalty-free, fully paid up license to use your photographic, video or digital likeness as well as first names solely for our promotional and/or commercial purposes.  If you do not agree to this, a written statement to that effect must be submitted prior to the start of your scheduled tour.

By reserving your place in any Eating Adventures tour, you affirm that you understand and agree to these Terms and Conditions and Waiver and Release of Liability.
